Friends Deciding To Do Stuff (FDTDS), piloted a new model for the ‘reading’ which broke from the passivity of the traditional "poet reads audience listens" model. A model that highlighted/harnessed the correlative aspects between poetry and other arts practices and provokes/invites new work.
FDTS explored poetry as a catalyst for exchange/collaboration between poets, artists and audiences. Poetry as a springboard, poetry as conversation starter, poetry as pick up line; poetry as any number of approaches and possible art collaborations – verbal, physical, intellectual, visual, ephemeral, social, political, mechanical, transcendental, musical – where "reading" is reimagined.
