(Because) This is a nice area

The White Space
(because) This is a nice area, takes place in the Customer Service Unit of a local super-council in the not too distant future: The Darrabyrnong Valley Land. Our protagonist: a Customer Service Officer, taking calls and answering enquiries by residents of the super-municipality.
From the Artists:
"We’re interested in the aspirations attached to home ownership, and the way in which homes and neighbourhoods – the privately owned realm – is rarely problematized. This work will turn a critical eye on our homes, our aspirations, and seek to decentre the middle class dream blueprint that, for many of us, dictates a white picket fence in the near future. As part of Seedpod, we are interested in finding our protagonist. We will develop for our Customer Service Officer a dramaturgy of compliance – an exploration of bureaucracy in the public realm and the interactions of the public with that bureaucracy – and investigate our protagonist’s aspirations outside this bureaucracy."
