Seedpod What If...
What if…YOU could have your approach to creating dynamised by a few of the methods used by some of Australia’s clever contemporary artists who combine artistic disciplines? What if YOU could switch from project to trajectory and name the contours within which you create?
Punctum’s What if… Seedpod residency program is a ‘micro-initiative’ which we hope will become a petri dish from which shift might evolve and the extraordinary happen. So, we’re throwing open the doors to YOU - artists and the curious, with 3 studio/labs led by these very special artists who are undertaking new work experiments with us.
What if… studio/lab artists are professional artists of national renown selected for the experiment they’re undertaking with us, their specific ways of sharing their practices, the dynamics of their projects, and their body of work
Tuesday November 6th, 10am - 1pm - Roarawar feartata - From privileged mansplaining to woke self-improvement
Saturday November 10th, 2pm - 5pm - Malcolm Whittaker - Affective Labourer’s Union
Sunday November 11th, 2pm - 5pm - Pia Johnson - Blood works: thinking through our identity
Each lab is an independent research and exchange that runs for half a day to a full day. We think that there is a huge amount to be gained from coming along to all three studio/labs, but we know that life and creating can be complex and busy, so you can come to any What if… studio/lab that takes your fancy. The only condition is to book, arrive ahead of the start time for each one, and stay until the end of the session.
All YOU need to bring is your sensitive approach to creating and your desire to further understand and explore creative practice. For those travelling from train from outside the region we are offering a 30% discount. Book into all 3 labs and recieve a $10 discount.
Depending on each studio/lab, the ideal number of participants is between 6 and 10, so book early to ensure your place. Refreshments will be provided
