The Dad Show Seedpod Amplified
7th & 8th November, 2014
St Mary's Hall, Kyneton
The Dad Show, by Bron Batten, is Punctum's third and final Seedpod Amplified residency for 2014
Encompassing music, theatre, live art and digital projection The Dad Show celebrates legacy, fathers and father figures in their many forms. It also showcases exciting new work from some of Victoria's best emerging and established artists.
The Dad Show opens up new dialogues through art, reaching across generations to bring about the meeting of child, parent and audience in an open, celebratory and creative space.
In speaking about what audiences can anticipate at the show, Bron says “Familial good times, tensions and histories will be gently and playfully explored and revealed through the course of the show - and Dad jokes can be told with impunity!”
The Dad Show is a regional reconfiguration and extension of Bron Batten's award winning 2011 performance work Sweet Child of Mine, a show she created with her own elderly parents which has since toured to Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Chicago.
